Our son

Our son was here visiting with his two sons today. When they were ready to leave he said "OK boys, lets go". It made me think about something my sweetie said when he talked about our son. My sweetie always referred to the pilot as "my boy". It made me smile to think that our son turned 35 this month but if his Dad were here our son would still be referred to proudly as "my boy".

Once a parent, always a parent, no matter how old the children are.....I find myself sometimes referring to my son and daughter as "the babies", and the grandchildren as "the grandbabies". It's a thirty-year old nickname thing that stuck, even after all this time.

To look at the Pilot and the Geek now and see those grown men still seems a bit weird when I stop and remember them as little seven year old school buddies.

When did we let them grow up on us, Super Gramma?

Yea, it did sneak up on us. The pilot is still "babe" to me and the little boys keep asking why I call them "baby doll" when they are big boys.
