The Ditch at Henn's Corner
There was a car in the ditch this morning at Henn's corner. Of course it made me smile to remember the night we had our first kiss. You said you were thinking about the kiss and you didn't slow down for the corner and went into the ditch. The big horse shoe that I had given you flew from the back seat and hit you in the head. You had a big knot on the back of your head, but years later, it still made us smile when we went past the corner.

Well, weren't you two cute? Do you still have the horse shoe?
Great story! I think a good kiss is worth the bump on the head.
These are great memories. I wish my mother would blog her memories of the early years with Dad like you are doing.....it would mean so much to me, my siblings and all the grandchildren. Thank you for sharing them with us.
My uncle, Charlie Henn, owned a gas station & little store in upstate New York (Pawling I think) many years ago, called Henn's Corner - is that the same place?
No, this very sharp corner in the road is in Woodburn, Or. The Henn family owned a small farm and raised chickens.
